ACADEMY PROJECTS
We are very excited to announce that Geo Academy has been awarded $988,554 by the DROPS (Drought Response Outreach Program for Schools) Grant! These funds will be used to make the area outside of the band room more water efficient, beautiful and educational. This restoration will include planting greenery such as trees and grass, a green roof, an amphitheater, more seating for students and much more! Not only will these design elements help beautify our campus, but they will also filter, direct and retain water, meaning less pollution in our water supply and no more huge puddles blocking traffic on those rainy days. The design will also allow for students to see, first hand, an environmentally conscious landscape design and the direct effects it can have on the environment and surrounding areas. This awareness is especially crucial now with the California Drought in full effect. Overall, this new design is environmentally conscious, aesthetically appealing and educational. Check it out below:
