The GEO garden is a community garden that originated in 1999 on the campus of Grant Union High School. It was created by a group of students that wanted to help their community by starting a project allowing neighborhood gardeners to grow their own food to feed their families. This garden is a unique place as it has a variety of plants from fruits to vegetables and offering a place for students to learn more about gardening. Also, allowing Science classes conduct hands-on labs in the garden to learn about ecology, nutrient cycling, and plant biology and students from the health classes learn about nutrition by growing and cooking fresh produce from the garden. The garden benefits our neighborhood gardeners and community as a whole.
