Youth energy summit (yes)
The Youth Energy Summit is a community partnership between SMUD, Lodi Electric Utility and the LegiSchool Project at California State University at Sacramento. YES is designed for high school juniors and seniors from the Sacramento and Lodi areas and focuses on California’s energy future.Five students from the AP Environmental Science class attended a two day interactive training event on Januray 25th and 26th which focused on developments in green energy, technology and sustainability. They will work on creating a business that fulfills a need in the community relative to green energy, energy conservation, or sustainability. They will then present their projects to a panel of judges in April 2013 at the steps of the State Capitol for a chance to win scholarships ranging from $250 - $1,000.
